For acne control and acne treatment, your face has to be cleaned thoroughly and correctly. Choosing a good cleaner suitable for you is the important first step for acne control. The most suitable cleanser is not necessary the most expensive one. A mild cleaner capable of controlling and treating acne without harming your skin further is an advisable choice. Most skin care and cosmetic brand offer a line of products that can be easily found in your local drugstore. Thorough cleaning is important to acne treatment, excessive frequency may be counterproductive. Frequent washing often results in skin dryness and irritation which can make your acne situation even worse. Washing your face twice a day with a mild cleaner is most appropriate. Exfoliating cleansers and masques are recommended for extra cleaning purposes.

Drinking large quantity of water each day is said to be beneficial treatment for acne sufferers in the way that water flushes out toxins accumulated in our bodies hence improves our skin conditions. How much water is needed for body to clean itself varies from one person to another. Try to drink at least eight glasses of water to flush out as many poisons as possible.

 

Topical medications, such as Proactiv Soultion, can be antibacterials, antibiotics or retinoids. For antibacterials, the more common and said to be the most effective are those that contain benzoyl peroxide. These antibacterials can be in the form of creams or gels that are applied to the affected area over a period of one to two weeks. Meanwhile, topical antibiotics are used to kill the bacteria making a home in the clogged pores of the skin. Although oral antibiotics can also be used, most skin specialists recommend the topical form since oral medications can cause stomach problems and other negative reactions

Remember every method of acne treatment takes several months to reach a workable and lasting effect. You just have to be very patient and persistent!
